Take a cloth tape measure and pull snugly around your ribs at the bottom of your breast.  This is where your bra line should be and therefore is your measurement starting point.  The number you have will tell you the starting bra band size.  Example:  32" equals a 32 band.  If you can't hook the band in the middle hooks or if your number is not an even number, round up to the next even number.  Sorry, just like in jeans, there are no odd numbers.

• Try pulling the bra up in the front.  If you start falling out the bottom, you need a tighter band.


• Pull the band down in the back.  When it is lower in the back, it will stay in place, be more comfortable and keep the back flat and smooth.

Take the tape measure and measure around the largest part of the breast with a bra on.  (This is a tough measurement to get because most women are not wearing a proper bra and breast tissue may be hiding.)  The difference between your band and cup measurement will give you a starting point for your cup size.  Example:  32" band & 38" cup gives a 6" difference. 

The guideline to go by is 1" per cup.  A=1, AA=2, B=3, BB=4, C=5, CC=6, etc.
If there are not double letter sizes, just count the cup sizes available.

• Take your hand and pull the breast tissue from the band up toward your face.  Lay the tissue in the cup.


• Reach under your arm through the bra and pull the breast tissue to the center of your body. 


• How does it fit?  Coming out of the cup?  Go up a cup size or two?
